Lonely Planet‘s award-winning website inspires travelers on what to see and do next. It also highlights stories about the obscure—like Nara Dreamland, a failed theme park in Nara, Japan. After closing permanently in 2006 and laying abandoned for years, the park became a popular spot for urban exploration.
My photographs of Nara Dreamland from 2016 were featured in the Lonely Planet news article, “See Inside Japan’s Abandoned Nara Dreamland Amusement Park.” The park has since been demolished.
